Ability to facilitate students' individual and collaborative use of technologies (including but not limited to spreadsheets, web page development, digital video, the Internet, and email) to locate, collect, create, produce, communicate, and present information.

The lessons I taught as part of my Chemistry course were able to integrate the objective in meaningful ways. My students were able to use technology on an individual level and collaboratively in order to create online quizzes and review games. This information was creatively communicated through the use of technology. For example students had to create a game that they could use to review how to name binary chemical compounds which is a rather dry topic. By using the Dustbin game, they were able to take the four categories I gave them and generate compounds that could fit each category.

The students that worked in groups for their project had to rely on prior knowledge to come up with their list of five Jeopardy topics. Students were encouraged to look back in their notes, PowerPoint presentations and review online videos we used in class to originally learn the concept to help with their Jeopardy questions. By integrating these various components into one project, students were able to not only improve their understanding of Chemistry but also technology. My students are already very adept at all things technology thanks to their smart phones, but teaching them how to use it responsibly and intelligently brings them to an entirely new level of proficiency.
